I am NOT a doctor nor am I affiliated with MTS Nutrition, so take my overview as you will, as this overview is based on my own thoughts, findings and experiences with this product. With that being said, I hope you find this information useful.
Why is getting enough sleep important?
Sleep, like nutrition and physical activity, is a critical determinant of health and well-being. Sleep loss and untreated sleep disorders influence basic patterns of behavior that negatively affect family health and interpersonal relationships. Fatigue and sleepiness can reduce productivity and increase the chance for mishaps such as medical errors and motor vehicle or industrial accidents.
Adequate sleep is necessary to:
Sleep timing and duration affect a number of endocrine, metabolic, and neurological functions that are critical to the maintenance of individual health. If left untreated, sleep disorders and chronic short sleep are associated with an increased risk of:
I have supplemented with Rested-AF from Steel Supplements and Machine Sleep Aid from MTS Nutrition. I personally loved both products, but I found that Sleep Aid was the better product in terms of taste, ingredients and effects (my opinion). There are a total of 12 potent ingredients inside Sleep Aid, I will skim over some ingredients and take an in-depth look at the ones I find to be more important.
Vitamin B6 is listed at 2 milligrams per serving, studies have shown sufficient levels of B6 can help you sleep better by increasing your natural melatonin in your body. Next is Calciumat 30 milligrams per serving, this is included in sleep aid to prevent muscle cramps. It is also shown calcium helps the brain produce natural melatonin helping you sleep. Magnesiumis listed next at 32 milligrams per serving, magnesium will help prevent muscle cramps while sleeping as well. Magnesium also helps increase your GABA levels which help you relax. Valerian Extractis listed at 200 milligrams per serving, and it has been shown to help you fall asleep faster as well as improve your sleep quality. Next is 5-HTP at 130 milligrams per serving, and what is does is it helps the body produce more serotonin helping you keep an optimal sleep cycle. Chamomile extractis listed at 50 milligrams per serving, this has been shown to help people fall asleep but decreasing anxiety and helping you relax. Next is Lemon Balm extract at 50 milligrams per serving, this ingredient is used for sleeping disorders by helping improve the quality of sleep. The next listed ingredient is Hops from flower at 50 milligrams, it has been shown to reduce anxiety to help you reach a calmer state before falling asleep. L-Theanine is the next ingredient listed at 150 milligrams per serving, it has been shown to be sedative which means it will help you relax before falling sleep leading to a better night’s rest. Melatoninis dosed at 3 milligrams per serving, yes many of the ingredients listed above already increase your natural melatonin levels but adding the extra 3 milligrams on top will help you fall asleep even more.
There are two ingredients in MTS Sleep Aid that make it superior to the other sleep formula products. Let’s take a look at Gamma Aminobutyric Acid (GABA)first. GABA has been shown to increase your growth hormone levels while you sleep which leads to a deeper sleep. Studies have shown that it blocks nerve impulses which helps you reach deep relaxation before and during sleep. Another study was conducted with GABA dosed at 3,000 milligrams, and it showed an increase in human growth hormones while supplemented for a 4-week period. MTS Sleep Aid provides a 3,000-milligram dose per serving for optimal results.
The next very important ingredient is KSM-66which is an Ashwagandha extract. Studies have shown that KSM-66 lowers both stress and anxiety, improving your mood and well-being leading to a better night’s sleep. A study conducted on males supplementing KSM-66 saw a support in natural testosterone levels which can improve mood, drive, and decrees stress. There are many other benefits that come along with KSM-66 but some of the ones that make it relevant to a sleep aid would be, it helps your fall asleep faster, it has been used as anti-inflammatory for many years and it has been shown to lower anxiety and depression.
